Accessibility statement
I want everyone to be able to use this website, whatever device, browser or assistive technology they use. Accessibility is part of how I build every site - including my own.
The standard I work to
This website aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard most UK organisations work to.
What this means for you
You should be able to:
- use the whole site with just a keyboard, and skip straight to the main content
- use a screen reader - pages use proper headings, landmarks and labels
- zoom in to 200% or make text bigger without losing anything
- read all text comfortably, with colour contrast that meets WCAG AA
- pause the moving logo strip, or stop all motion by turning on "reduce motion" on your device
- read the figures in charts as a table instead
- use the site on a phone, tablet or computer
How I test it
Every page has been checked with axe-core, an automated accessibility testing tool, against the WCAG 2.2 A and AA rules, with no issues found as of 5 November 2026. Pages have also been checked at phone width, which is how they behave when zoomed in. Automated tools can't catch everything, so if you spot something I've missed, please let me know.
Known limitations
- Some links lead to live campaign pages and other websites I've built for clients, which this statement doesn't cover.
- Brand logos are shown in a softened grey. Logos are exempt from WCAG contrast rules, and each one is named for screen readers.
Found a problem?
If anything on this site is hard to use, or you need information in a different format, please email hello@laurabrightondev.com and tell me which page and what happened. I'll fix it or get you the information another way.
